Safety First

Safety is RiverIndia's Top Priority
We are proud to set the
highest standards in India for our guides. We work with U.S.-based organizations such as The Wildnerness Medical Institute, Rescue 3, The American Safety & Health Institute, Foster Calm, and The Wilderness Medical Society to ensure our guides are the top in the business.
Whether they are leading you through world-class whitewater, flame-broiling a freshly caught filet, communicating on a sat-phone, or directing a helicopter to an LZ, the guides we employ are the world's highly-trained elite.
While most guides working in India have First Aid and CPR training, many of our guides are additionally certified as Wilderness First Responders with Swiftwater Rescue Training. Our training also goes beyond emergencies: our guides are also Certified Food Handlers adept at preparing our exquisite menus.
Our guides are charismatic outdoorswomen, mountainmen, talented kayakers, and expert climbers. We proudly employ some of the best people in the business. The Trip Leaders greeting you are the cream of the crop: often experienced Wilderness First Responders, they are at home in India, and have guided for at least 6 years with a minimum 3 years of multi-day expedition experience. They deeply understand the logistics and systems required for your expedition.
Our equipment is top-notch and is monitored before, during, and after each descent. We use Carlisle oars, Carlsson pumps, NRS oarlocks, and Astral lifejackets to carry us through India's canyons. For hesitant paddlers, the largest rapids of our expeditions are optional- with the possibility of trading a wild ride for a scenic hike!
Each trip is organized from our base in India, giving us the latest information on road, river, and weather conditions. With support staff, a network of local experts, and top of the line equipment, you can rest assured your trip will be amongst the best-organized in the world.
