Courses SARSI offers courses in Beggining Guiding, Advanced Guiding, Kayaking, Basic First Aid and CPR, and Wilderness First Aid. Courses are taught in a supportive environment that stresses practical application of skills over a multi-day period. The excellent whitewater reference "The Guide's Guide Augmented", by William McGinnis, is used as a basis for all instruction.
Swimming Free swimming classes are offered to local children in SARSI's base areas: these include Along, Pasighat, and Yingkiong, Arunachal Pradesh. These classes stress the use of personal floatation devices, river safety, and ecology.
US-India Exchange Through a collaboration between US and Indian rafting companies, SARSI heads the intercultural exchange of river guides between the US and India. With experience in arranging Visas for experienced international guides, SARSI is the focal point of international guiding exchange for Indians and Americans alike.
